This beautiful New York City birthday party photographed at the studios of Michael Scott Events was a night filled with family, friends and a lot of laughter. The birthday boy, husband of Victoria Dubin of Victoria Dubin Events as well as New York City event designer Ed Libby and Co, are huge supporters of my work because of my expertise at capturing amazing moments in realtime as well as my documentary aesthetic.
Before I knew it, I was heading towards Hollywood to photograph Christoph Waltz, two-time Oscar winner, for a ceremony where he would receive the 2536th star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. However, my role photographing this was directly for Christoph Waltz as well as the parent company of his recent film, The Weinstein Company. In the three hours I was shooting the ceremony and luncheon at Musso and Franks, my newspaper and magazine expertise has never come in this handy since migrating over to the event and party industry 14 years ago.
Celebrity Stacy Keibler’s baby shower at her private estate in Beverly Hills was a spectacular affair held on a Saturday afternoon back in early June. In attendance were celebrity wives, her closest girl friends and family including Jared Pobre’s mother. Ladies drank cocktails, ate from an incredible spread displayed inside the kitchen, gathered poolside, listened to the beat of a DJ, painted their nails and laughed during the afternoon festivities.
Photographing my first Ed Libby & Co event leaves me grappling for words. I hope my story further into this post will clarify why I have such inarticulate thoughts. For those who do not know Ed Libby and his crazy talent, you will find him based in New York City working as a florist and event designer creating parties that are the definition of luxury all over the world.
