Bat Mitzvah at Chicago Botanic Garden : Jessica Kaplan

Jessica Kaplan's Bat Mitzvah at the Chicago Botanic Gardens was truly a sensational celebration.  The Mitzvah was just 2 weeks after we shot her Bat Mitzvah portrait session at the family home as well as the Bimah formals 3 days before the party.  Clearly by the time I arrived for the Mitzvah at the Botanic Gardens, I felt like a member of the family.

The party was absolutely incredible.  If you have not noticed, Jessica loves fashion so Reva Nathan, the coordinator, and Rishi Patel from Heffernan Morgan Designs joined together and created an over-the-top fashion-themed party called Project Jessica.

One thing I enjoy about my job is observing the family dynamics from weekend to weekend.  And typically with Mitzvahs I don't expect the teenager to socialize much with me or my team due to the age difference.  However, that was not the case for any of the Kaplan children.  And spending the evening with the children at the party was again filled with gratitude and respect which I rarely get to see with young folks.

And besides the gratitude the children expressed to me and my team, I stopped counting how many times they communicated their appreciation to their parents for the breathtaking soiree.  It is amazing how nice it is to spend the evening with such kind people and to be able to interact with them on a level that I normally do not get the opportunity to do at every event.

To Jessica, your sisters, Marty and Amy: Thank you so very much for allowing us into your lives.  We all had a fantastic time spending three different days with you all.

Please enjoy your blog post.

Be well.

Kevin.
